Stained Pergola with Polycarbonate Roof in Gunter, Texas

This Gunter homeowner wanted a covered outdoor space off the back of the house without giving up daylight. We built a 10x20 pergola on 6x6 posts and finished it in a rich dark stain to match the fence and gate.

On top, we installed a polycarbonate roofing system. The clear panels keep rain off the patio and the back door while still letting light through, so the space stays bright instead of feeling like a closed-in porch.

The existing concrete patio was too small for the new footprint, so we extended the slab before setting the posts. The result is one continuous patio under the pergola with room for seating and the grill.
